Privacy notice for Accident Credit Group ltd.


This is a Privacy Policy Statement which will outline how we at Accident Credit Group Ltd will process information about you, the individual, and the steps we will take to ensure your details are kept secure and confidential whilst we hold them on file for processing.

Accident Credit Group Ltd will be known as a Data Controller and will be committed to protecting the rights of individuals in line with the Data Protection Act (DPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We are a limited company registered in England and Wales under company registration number 7242638. Our ICO register number is Z2256634.

Where you have been referred to us via a Hire Car Company, Accident Management Company, Solicitor, Bodyshop, Repair Network, they may also be classed as a Data Controller.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we have a duty to inform you on what lawful basis we intend to process your data. Given the details we will hold and share in order to operate our business we will endeavour to process your information under three separate bases under Article 6 (1) (B),(C) and (F) defined as:

  • (1) Legitimate Interest– We will only process your data where we or a third party has a legitimate reason for doing so and that processing is necessary. See Section 4.
  • (2) Legal Obligation– We will process your data where we are legally obligated to do so i.e. HMRC, The Police or any other government or law enforcement agency.

In relation to our individual business partners i.e Bodyshops and / or engineers our lawful basis would also include:

  • (3) Contract– we will process your Personal Data in order to fulfil any contract we hold between us.

As a business, Accident Credit Group Ltd have to obtain and process individuals personal data in order for us to provide funding for our clients, detailed below is what data we collect;

This would include Name, Address, Date of Birth, contact details of all parties to a claim, our case reference number and our referrer’s reference number and details of vehicles involved in the claim.


Your Data is provided to us, from our work providers, who will be companies that you will have already had an interaction with and who will have disclosed to you that we will be processing your information such as Accident Management Companies, Repairer Networks, Car Hire Companies, Repairers and Solicitors.

  • 1 We need to know your Basic Personal Data in order to make essential investigations and risk assessments prior to us responsibly agreeing to fund the repairs to a vehicle.
    • 1.1 To communicate with you whilst we handle your case.
    • 1.2 To validate a claim and identify a claim.
  • 2 To adhere to all legal obligations.
  • 3 To Monitor performance of our business, risk, Market analysis, Fraud prevention, Money Laundering and to adhere to audits from our investors, accountants and HMRC.
  • 1. As a business we only share your basic data with relevant and necessary third parties:
    • Repairing Garages – in order to process and manage the repairs to your vehicle.
    • Independent Engineers – in order to inspect your vehicle and ensure it is repaired in line with manufactures guidelines and to mitigate losses on your behalf.
    • Insurance Companies – in order to set up and validate your claim, discuss liability and settlement.
    • Referrers – Bodies who supply us with your details and work alongside us to process your claim and to recover various losses on your behalf.
    • Solicitors – on occasion to aid in the recovery of your losses or Personal Injury Cases.
    • Insurance Brokers/Accountants – on occasion to ascertain necessary details relating to your case and the successful recovery of your losses.
    • Debt Collection Agencies – to aid recovery of losses.
    • Witnesses – In order to validate accident circumstances.
    • Employers – In order to clarify the VAT status and to confirm if the Driver was insured to drive a vehicle where the vehicle is owned by a Company.
    • Car Hire companies – to mitigate losses and not prejudice each other’s position.
  • 2 Where permitted by data protection and privacy law, we may also disclose information about you:
    • 2.1 If required or permitted to do so by law; and/or
    • 2.2 If required to do so by any court, the Financial Services Authority, the Office of Fair Trading or any other applicable regulatory, compliance, Governmental or law enforcement agency; and/or
    • 2.3 If necessary in connection with legal proceedings or potential legal proceedings.
  • 3. Personal Data may be passed to fraud prevention agencies to prevent fraud and money laundering.
  • 4. Our calls may be recorded and stored by our telephone providers for a period of six months and in our internal system for 7 years after the claims is closed or settled.
  • 5. Third parties including cloud services providers (such as hosting and email management companies).
  • 6. We do not transfer your personal information to countries outside of the United Kingdom.

Our aim is to process your data no longer than is deemed necessary and in keeping with the spirit of the GDPR. ACG will keep any Personal data for 7 years after any case have been fully recovered or closed.

We believe we do not process your data in any way you would not expect us to.

Your Data will never be released, sold or misused for marketing purposes.


If at any point you believe that the data we hold on you is incorrect you have the right to request we rectify this.

In certain circumstances you may request your data be restricted or erased or you may object to certain aspects of our processing and we will make all reasonable efforts to comply with your request, unless there is an overriding legitimate reason for us to continue to process the Data for longer.

You have the right to access any information we hold about you and we will aim to respond to your request within one month as per GDPR guidelines.
